Thread: SLH Compression
01-31-2011, 11:20 AM #1
I bought a 1999 SLH from a guy who said that the engine had been rebuilt recently, and that he hadn't even finished the break in period. I got a great deal on it, and it ran...so I went ahead and got it. I checked compression this weekend one cylinder was 144 psi, the other was 130 psi. I know they are supposed to be within 10% (its on the edge)....will these even out, or am I going to have to do an upper rebuild soon?

Um, this would be the Kawasaki forum
Who did the engine rebuild? Professional, the previous owner?
Regarding compression, I suggest you run it like that and recheck again after a couple of hours.
Take the time to check, maintain and upgrade all the things that are recommended, such as fuel system, carburetor rebuild, etc.
