2010 and up VX DIY catch can and mount

With the hi-preformance air filter installed it would be a shame to run the nasty PVC fumes in the throttle body. I made a DIY catch can from the SEA DOO forum and made a mount to attach.
    Whats needed http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/sea-...catch-can.html

catch can DIY(under $20.00 to make)
1 rubber gromet from the stock airbox
1 gromet insert(grind off 1/4 inch) from stock airbox
2 8mm bolts that held the stock airbox to the hull
    1 8mm nut
    1 6' metal strap

Step-1 instert the rubber gromet into the large hole on the front motor lift bracket

Step-2 grind off 1/4 inch of the metal gromet insert, then push it through the center of the rubber gromet

step 3-drill 1/4 hole in the side of the catch can 3/4 inch from the top and tap it with a 8mm x .125 tap

step 4- bend 6" strap into a double L pattern ( see photos) and drill 5/16 holes at each end......this bracket could be made in many different ways to get the same results.

step 5- using one of the 8mm bolts that held the stock air cleaner to the hull attach the catch can to the bracket( I also used a rubber washer between bracket and catch can)

step 6- using one of the 8mm bolts that held the stock air cleaner to the hull attach the the catch can by putting the bolt through me lift mount and thread on a 8mm nut and tighten

step-7 cut off 4.5 inches of the PVC hose and slide on to the catch can barb( use a 1/2 inch barb instead of 5/8 inch barb in sea doo instructions)

No I have not checked speed by GPS.....Iphone gps 58mph....speedometer 62......I'm not going racing with my ski just lake racing, playing, really just haveing fun doing some mods....I'm in the middle of modding of the water box...I bought one on ebay for $34.00 so i will still have my stock one if I mess up! Doing thru-hull exhaust with that mod..... then I will test to see if there are any gains with the exhaust and preformance airfilter, then I'm going to do a Jim's rideplate and a R&D grate and maybe repitch the impeller......My goal is to gain 5mph with all of those mods

Clean. I think your CAI looks better than what Riva offers. Nice.

I would love to see what you are GPSing with a real GPS. Ive got a buddy with an identical ski and I would love to start duplicating your results. You should start making kits and selling them on ebay.
