I think the Vortec core is $800 by itself.

Steve - I have been thinking, can you hook me up with your set-up in your RXP? (Intercooler)

I think it was shibby that called around and found out that was the price just for the core.

yep... i couldn't fathom the cost of the riva parts and couldn't really afford the kit at the time.. i hunted down for quite a few days all the part numbers of end tanks, cores, on the phone with vortech directly, speaking with custom intercooler builders, welders.... it was going to cost me a tad over 900 to get the two vortech end tanks and vortech core and have them welded together... then i needed couplers, pipes, bracket, IC block off... suddenly buying the Riva kit in jerry's online store seemed like a bargain!

so anyways, i'm sure you can get the intercooler repaired reliably and professionally, but rest assured for that price i do not believe you are getting a legit Vortech replacement core, rather an alternative aftermarket core with the same dimensions.

i can provide you with the 3 part numbers the are welded together to make the Riva Intercooler, then you can call Vortech directly and tell them you want a custom intercooler with the following part numbers, they'll make it, they'll tell you the price, and u'll wonder wtf kinda connection Riva has with Vortech that they can sell an entire IC kit at the price they do.

A lot of times companies have "special" deals with their suppliers. For instance my company sells alot of one particular part. We don't stock the part (kinda like Jerry) they are drop shipped. If one of our customers calls up our supplier directly they will be quoted a price slightly more then what we sell the part for....and we mark this one part up somewhere around 100-125%

don't think its the vortech core, diff core to do the job. Heck the $150 coolers seems to be running good so, don't think it can be that bad
