2007 GTI Gauges not working and blowing 3 amp fuse

I just bought a 2007 GTI and the Gauges are not working. I noticed that the 3 amp Gauge Fuse was blown and blows again when replaced. I am assuming that it is a bad Gauge Cluster. Is there anything else it could be?

Unplug Gauges, change fuse and see if it blows. Could be a shorted wire running to the gauge (it should be purple in color). If it's not in the wiring it has to be in the cluster, the cluster will have to be married once it's replaced. If you replace it with new cluster the firmware must be loaded into the cluster, if you need assistance with this contact me. Have not heard of Bay Tree, I'm in Cameron (40 miles south of Raleigh)

I will try this. I do not know why I did not think of that. Where do you get these little fuses? They are smaller then any I have seen.

Our actual Mailing address is Harrells, NC. It is about 70 Miles South of Raleigh.

You can get the fuses at any autoparts store. All the new model cars use the same.

Thanks, Any ideas on where the best place to get a new or used Gauge Cluster is? The best price I see is $368 for new.
