LifeLine Life Jacket Review For Offshore Racing

The start of a review of this product - the LifeLine Comp Vest

Note - LifeLine is not a sponsor of mine, I paid full price, this is not about promoting a product, rather it is about evaluating a product for our niche

Larry ham had been using lifeline jackets for years. Jerry gaddis and myself used them at mudbug a few years back. If your riding over 70 mph you should throw down the duckets and
get protected. You wont win any beauty contest wearing one however it may just save your life.

    Agreed Joe...

Not sure what the primary differences are between the new Comp vest and the older ones Noble was wearing - I know the collar is different on the new one. I will continue researching...

So far I am impressed with this jacket - we shall see once we are on the water.

Actually, Larry's were custom made, as are all of the lifeline vest. They are tried and tested for years now. Glad to see you found them.

Its not USCG approved?? The FWC checks our jackets everytime to make sure we aren't wearing wakeboard jackets. Hydrodrags requires a type 5.

They look like they would be fantastic to bad they don't carry the cert.. When I crashed on Howard's ski close to 100 I had my Jetpilot pullover vest that carries the USCG 5 rating and it tore the the straps and ended up around my neck. I almost drowned because I was paralyzed for 20 seconds or so. Seemed like an eternity.

But its no shit about the FWC. They have checked at least 50% of the time I've been out last year. Even the Sheriff checked at the boat ramp. Tim made sure you had one at the drags or you didn't pass prerace inspection.

Believe it or not my Slippery molded vest with a USCG 3 rationg stays on better in a high speed dismount.

as it has been stated the lifeline racing vest is hands down better than a C G approved vest off the shelf. You might want to work with your governing bodies to get the Life line vest approved.
