I have an I-shaft from an '01 for sale, check it out. I believe they are compatible, but somebody should verify that.

Thats correct 02 mid shaft and 00-01 or 03-08 driveshaft, that said you don't need to do the extension you can just install the HO pump. Its a strait fit but you will obviously need the impellor to suit the larger hub. If you can get a second hand pump assy incl drivshaft it will swap straight in or if you can salvage the drivshaft just get a new HO stator.

To install the spacer you will also need the longer bolts, and a steering cable extention.

To upgrade from the old style to the HO Pump, all you need is the 05 and up pump stator, new pump seals, and the 05 and up tail cone and screws. Press your driveshaft out of your old pump, put the new seals in the new Pump stator and press the driveshaft into the new pump stator. fill with lube and cap. The 2" pump extension is a different mod.

Yes everything will bolt up the same. New seals are a must, you cant use the old ones. You will also want to inspect the bearings if they are good use them, if not replace. And yes the goal of this mod is the ability to use the newer Solas Dynafly props.

there have been gains with using a stock HO prop in an non ho pump... if you wanted to try that first...
I would keep in mind that even when upgrading to the HO pumps you would still need to choose a impeller pitch to accompany your engine needs...
IMHO if your going to go thru all the trouble with a new or used stator, i would also install new bearings as well as the seals as Bill has mentioned.
there are several kits avail from IR, or you can purchase thru the online store piecemeal.
