Front Bow Eye Snapped Bolts (HELP)
Guy s just got my ski painted which is all good but the painters tryed to remove the front bow eye as it s called or the front hook we use to pull the ski up on the trailer and yes one bolt snapped and the other is free spiining.
How can i repair this properly I tryed to get to it from inside but its inside the second layer of skin. If I try to drill it and re thread it it free spins so that won t work. SCREWED
Do i have to cut a hole in the second layer of ski in front of the tank can you get to it from there.
Has anyone had this problem before and how did they re solve it.

hello Mike, What you have to do is remove the computer from the front then take a dremmel tool and cut the inner layer. It does not have to be very big you want your hand to fit in. Then you must remove the foam inside and then you will see the nuts in the inside, Do the repair then glue the piece of fiberglass that you cut back in.

We had this happen on a 2000 model. We used a deck plate for a boat 3-4 ". Cut out the hole fixed the bow eye screwed the ring on and then put the deck plate in. You probably won't have to fix it twice but you never know. We used a hole saw to cut the inner liner. Billy had really good pics of this posted before.

Go see if you can find like a round flat peice of something and drill 4 holes and use 4 little screws so you can screw it in place and you can remove it if it happens again. On mine the hole is like 4 inches round. You can order all the parts you need to replace the entire section x 2. There is a nut inside no biggie..Good luck and definely a pain in the ass..
