    GP 1200V - Rebuild question

New to jet skis --I bought a used Yamaha GP1200 with a engine that needs to be rebuilt- Looking at the crank case were the Head attachs there a little area missing metal on the surface for the gasket not sure if it suppose to be like that or can it be fixed (JBweld)? Also for assembly for what is used for lub for bearing/CYL walls? Also is it best to use a gasket sealant with the gaskets or just use gaskets as is for assembly?

    All conmments welcome

jp, welcome to the forum! please take a moment to check out all this forum has to offer and research the "search" feature of this board. You will find just about all youll need to know and then some about this engine and your ski!
kick back, grab a beer and a snack an enjoy the informative threads... you can also read alot of good info here>
if the surfaces are clean/good, some gaskets can be used dry and some wet with a light coating of waterproof grease.
a lot of members use 1211 as the sealant of choice. good luck on your build...
I`m sure someone will directly answer your case question soon.

Fill both holes with jb weld and put electrical tape across for a smooth top. Then lightly sand should be good. We fill those holes when we case port.

Dont forget to use 1211 when puting the cases back together.
