97 gp1200 trim tabs
I'm new here. I just bought a 97 gp1200 3 days ago. It rode fine the 1st day. Yesterday it had a bad lean to the right for 1st 20 mins then straightened out. After I notice left (port) trim tab is missing. I assume bad lean was it breaking and dragging and rode ok once it tore off.
Anyway I hear there a real pain to change and if I'm going to have to go thro all that work I'd like to get the aluminum ones. I looked everywhere, Riva, R&D, ebay, google.
Where do I find a set of aluminum trim tabs for 97 gp1200?

Absolutely perfect!!! Just happens I'm an aluminum welder and have access to a lazer and water jet. Our programer can use those prints to have them lazer cut.
Thank You so much!!!!!

get a few sets made and youll be able to recoup your expenses fairly quick as there is almost always a few gps (97 and early 98's ) that need those tabs..a few fellows come here to ask about them and where to buy!!

as to 97 being the bad hull, besides the tabs, the early 97's especially with the 1200's ,were suseptible to cracking issues around the engine mounting areas.. this prob was fixed some what when the hull was strenghtened early on in 97 ' and on subsequent models...there was a strenghtening kit that yami offered and did retro fit free under warranty but is no longer available.. True ,YAMI learned as they went with the GP until perfecting the 99's, but fix what you have as its a great ski..you know what to keep an eye on ..

Riva made two styles of trim tabs. One for the 1997 - early 1998 hulls and another for the Late 1998 - 1999.
The 97-98 where the triangle style(big)
The 98-99 where the little strips of aluminum.(small)
I have included both pdfs.

Here are some other diagrams I have laying around.
One says 99 trim tabs but I believe that is wrong. They look like the early style.
