    04 rxp transducer mounting

Ok so ive been reading all morning on mounting a depth finder in a RXP. I would prefer to do it through hull just for a clean and simple install. Has anyone found an easy spot on a 04 rxp to install the transducer without having to remove any part of the driveline? I know about the issue with the double hull and would like to avoid drilling a large hole just to mount it to the outer hull as well. Part of the problem is i broke my hand over xmas and am still in a cast post surgery and can basically not use my left hand, so major disassmebly of the driveline is out of the question. or am i better off just using the transom mount?

I would recommend going with the Airmar transducer. It is larger and similar to the Sea Doo factory depth transducer. I mounted mine on the rear right side. You may have room just to the rear of the supercharger next to the waterbox. I would also recommend the in-dash depth sounder. It is a bit more difficult to find a place to mount the in-dash unit. The in-dash unit has more power and gives better readings. I had the smaller Hawkeye but found it unreliable and had no readings over 45 mph. With the current setup I see depth at speeds of 80 mph. Also, with the in-dash you can wire it up to come on when you key the ski...you won't need to turn it on like with the smaller one. If you do go with the D11S you can mount the transducer behind the supercharger. I have attached a pic of the in-dash unit and where I mounted it on my ski. The numbers are huge and the display is backlit.

Here's where I had mine mounted for a few years before I went with the larger transducer. Worked ok up to 40-45 mph. The hull is not too thick in this area.
