2006 FX HO 160 Project.
I'm starting this thread for all those guys out there wondering if some of the performance parts available for the FX SHO will fit the FX HO 160 (MR-1). I'm working with a 2006 FX HO that i just purchased to keep as a second ski good on gas and so far I have tried and successfully installed the RIVA REAR EXHAUST KIT available for the FX SHO. I also cut the water box open and got rid of the baffle and shorten it by 4 1/2", I did this to get better flow and hopefully it will improve the sound. I have a reflash in the works that will mainly raise the rev limiter by a few thousand RPM and wanted to get the exhaust ready for it. This is it for now. I will keep you all posted, Julio...

definatly add the riva velocity stacks and free flow filter
also change your plugs from cr9eb to cr9ek, you will have to get some of the litle screw on plug caps from somewhere (i had a few old plugs laying around that i got them from)

and with all the riva bits suposed to be 10,300 revs
i didn't put the 14/20 prop on when i fitted all the parts and wasn't on the limiter
the plugs give more top end don't really know why
but i found it on a R1 race site, suposed to give 3hp due to puting the spark further into the chamber
i tried them and was definatly faster compared to other skis i normaly ride with

Great thread, ill keep an eye on this. Stock FX HO was hitting 61-62MPH on GPS. Interested to see if you will break 64-65 mark after everything.

No chance of hitting a piston with those plugs eh? May try those plugs with my FX140.

I took the water box to the shop today to have it re welded and since I cut four inches off it I also picked up a three inch ID by eight inches long silicone hose to go from the exhaust manifold to the water box to pick up the difference. I also took my seat to the upholstery shop to have my new black with gold stitches RIVA seat cover installed, it should be ready tomorrow and I can't wait to see how it comes out. I also got a call late today and the water box is ready to be picked up so I'm planing to have it re installed tomorrow in hopes to be on the lake Saturday morning and take some GPS numbers before I add the next mod. I'm not expecting any BIG speed numbers since I haven't installed a ride plate, intake grate or velocity stacks. I want to do one thing at a time and take GPS numbers each time. This time is just RIVA filter, RIVA rear exhaust and SHORTY water box.
