Question Is 12 lbs of slip enough

    Hey Guys

I`m in the middle of putting the ski back together after some upgrades. Have installed the Riva valvetrain and the Riva ECU is on it`s way from Jerry....should have this very shortly.
Expecting to have to do some tweaking to the prop to get the revs up but do i need to increase the slip on my charger. I currently have this set to 12 lbs, as iv`e just rebuilt it.

    Thanks in advance

    Alex

I would shoot for 14-15. Especially seeing as though you just rebuilt it, that slip of 12 ft/lbs would likely go down after a few hours. Are you running mcmasters?

Yes Mcmasters and Riva washers. Have noticed very little drop in slip with these fitted over the last year. Great product.
Thanks for the advice....will lift the slip setting up to what you recommend.

    Thanks again

No problems. The general rule of thumb is 1ft/lb per pound of boost. Seeing as though you are running the riva pro x wheel at 8600 rpm, i would imagine your boost to be around 13.5 or so. So like i said, if you shoot for 14-15, and lose just a bit after the first few hours you should be right on the money...
