    Yamaha SUV control cables

I took my jet pump down to replace the wear ring. I noticed that on the steering and trim cables the little rubber "boots" that seal the stationary and sliding part of the cables are loose and some are missing. Will the missing boots allow water to enter the cables and lock them up? Is there a way to replace them without replacing the entire cable?

Those little boots dont keep the water out. Just keep them well greased and if you dont use your ski move them from time to time. They slide off all the time.

They havent just slid off .... couple are missing and others are torn. Can they be replaced by themselves? If not can something be made to replace them ?
