I'd go for the 2010 and try to get them down some from 11k or call around for a left over 09.

Same here, go for the 2010, but try to get them down still.

You should be able to get the 2010 for $10,000 easily. I ended up at less than that when I bought my '09 FZR about a year ago.

Is it worth 1500 extra to you? Plus the additional tax? Don't forget about depreciation as soon as you trailer it away from the dealer. If you plan to finance for any period of time, I'd go with the cheaper one. You can always have it painted down the road if color is that big of a deal for you.

I would go with the older one and talk them down a bit more.

I agree with oldskoolmc about the depreciation. Not as big a hit if you do the 2010. Plus they should be willing to deal more on last years model.

Go the 2010 and talk them down some more. I purchased a 2009 FZS new from Berts Mega Mall for $10400 in November 2010. The depreciation is an issue so be smart. Try and get an FZS if you can, the extra seat opens up more options especially upon trying to sell it at the back end of its life and its the same ski.

I would agree that depreciation may be an issue, or at least can be a big headache if something happens. My FZR was completely demolished by another ski about 3-4 months after I bought new (bought 2009 new in 2010), and the insurance company really wanted to hit me hard with the depreciation even though it only had 20 hours of run time on the engine. Took 3 months of arguing, and then there were no more 2009 or 2010 FZR models to be found in my area. In the end, they gave me back everything that I paid for the FZR less a $250 deductable, but the 2011 FZS I replaced it with cost me about $2000 more. The really sucky thing about my experience is that I have to go through the break in process all over again.......but hey....at least I lived through a rather horrible accident!
