    ET SS low boost wheel

Im a bit confused about some things Ive read and things Ive been told.

Id like to run the ET SS supercharger wheel (11.5 pound) and a reputable performance shop here in Oz has said that it should not be an issue with stock ECU and no other fuel mods or boost clamps. This was backed up today by another shop who install wheels, although they install slightly lower boost wheels from another manufacturer.

What Ive read here on the forum and after speaking with a few other guys up at the Moogerah Tech day I shouldnt really be running this wheel without some kind of fuel management.

Is it a matter of installing the wheel but pitching the prop to keep off the revs under 7550 ? from what I understand the boost limiter kicks in when boost limit is exceeded for 2 seconds at 7550 RPM ? Correct me if I am wrong.

    Any thoughts ?

    Cheers

    Dan

probably won't be an issue if you can keep the revs low enough
but then you loose a lot of the benefit
so as Richie said just go the motec
    you know you want to

Mike, is your comment based on your own experience ?

    Richie/Kev,

I might be in limbo at the moment but its easier than being in hell, motec might be tough to sneak through parliment, the leader of the opposition might not pass the aquisition , nah, I would rather stay away from fuel/ecu managment if I can, although .........

When I run the E1 , the boost limiter cut in all the time...

you'll need a boost clamp & fuel reg.

When I ran that exact same combo, the ski was a pig on the limiter but had alot more power and other than that was fine for the 3 rides(5hrs) that I ran it till I put te motec on it. You will need a big prop at least 13/24 to 13/25 to try and keep off the limiters, I ran the 13/23 skat and with the et wheel it was on the limiter quite easy, probally would have been OK with the 13/25 but I did not muck around with pitches as I went straight to Motec after that.
You should be OK as the Yammy ECU is rich and a few more Pds of boost should not lean it out as per someone who knows here in Aus. I never had issues just with the shithouse stock limiters so you could try but run at least 13/24 to 13/25 pitches and maybe the boost clamp to get rid of the boost limiter, at least then you could spin the motor to 7700 ithout getting held back.

    Coldspace,

What do you mean by "pig on the limiter" ? Richie with a 16 pound wheel said his ski essentially shut down all power once he got to the top end.
