Wink I know this probably has been covered...but...reed question again

    Ok,

So I have an appointment tuesday of next week at my local PWC shop to have my carbs re-jetted and calibrated for the setup I have (93 650 drypipe, pro 785 CDI, and hopefully by then I'll have my nujet 4.7 impeller) Ok, local tech says that then would be the time to replace the reeds when the carbs are out, and since they are probably the originals... what do you guys think?

Second question, since I cannot afford v-forces/boysen rad valves now (zmann! lol, just kidding!) what would be the best aftermarket pedal alternative... I've looked at carbontech light tension, boysen power and pro reeds... I'm looking for the best bang for the buck in performance and durablilty at least until I can get some v-forces/boyesen rad valves in the future.

1 vote for carbon techs! great!

It would have been interesting to see this one in a poll form just to see the numbers.

hmm is that still possible? Can a moderator have the ability to change it now?

Anyway, where do you guys shop for your carbon tech reeds... and should I be looking at high tension or low tension? Is around $140 the baseline?

So far, I've only found them here:

Here is my pic. They also have a more expensive racing sets. I have the Pro series (not the race one's) in my 750. It's been 10 years and no problems. I was originally only going to add TDR reed spacers to my 750 and found the stock reeds were missing some corners so Boyesen came to the rescue. http://shop.boyesen.com/catalog/prod...oducts_id=1733

Edit: I forgot I have R&D reed cages in my SLX 780 and they see to be alright. They don't make or offer them any more. I got them on ebay a couple of years ago. Anybody else try them? They better hold up. I think I'm beat on find replacement petals for em?

I read somewhere the Carbon techs are best for the price. Good response and performance in stock cages and stuffers for half cost of V Force. You are looking for top speed, you gotta go V Force II. You can try atlanticjetsports.com or parkeryamaha.com just to browse for prices and parts too.

Ok, that's 2 for carbon techs, one for boyesen... more input needed! lol... So, if carbontechs... which ones (high or low tension) and so far, I've found $140 for them plus shipping.. where do you guys get yours? For boyesen, obvously, you can just buy direct from them...

xlint, thanks for the vforce tips..I'll browse and see what they are currently running cheapest ($300 is too much for me now, but I guess if I'm spending half of it for half the performance... hmmmm.... I must ponder some more...)

    Which one of these would I need... I don't see sl780... I am assuming SLX 780 (59-6664)... could I "use" the 59-666...that's not too bad @ $233!

    ALL SL 650 59-6664 $314.06
    ALL SL/SLT HURRICANE 700 59-6666 $233.06
    ALL SL/SLT 750 59-6664 $314.06
    ALL SLX 780/785 Pro 59-6664 $314.06
    ALL SL900 59-6665 $314.06
    ALL SLTX 1050 59-6665 $314.06

Oh, the above was from atlanticjetsports... I looked at parkeryamaha, no v-force selection for polaris

I thought you weren't made out of money ....LOL
Boyesen also makes RAD valves for the Fuji's and I believe Sealion or somebody said they worked better in the Fuji's and the V-force's worked better in the domestics Might wanna shoot him a PM before you pull the trigger on that kid of dough big spender. There was a set of RAD valves on Ebay but I took everything off my watch list. I have to start buying other people presents Oh joy!
