    Des Post Question

I know of a few people who run the Seadoo des posts on Kawasaki skis with aftermarket ecus, I am just wondering if the post is tied into the ecu or if its a standalone controller for it.

    Thanks

    Sean

On the seadoos the post its self is not tied to a ECU its just the Key, the DESS post works just like a switch, when the key is on it allows current to flow through it, it has 3 or 4 wires depending on year you will only need 2 of them, just use a volt meater to work out which wires are connected with the key on then you can use it to complete the circuit that fires your ignition relay.

The other wires are used to send info to the ECU/MPEM to see if the correct key is being used, you obviosly wont have this function.

Oh so its just like a standard switch would be on a Kawasaki and the ecu handles the immobilizer function?

Yup, you will see if you put the key on, find the 2 wires that make a circuit then pull the key, Im not sure if there is anything else going on in there but for a kill switch on a standalone ECU setup it works fine.
