    gp1200r YPVS maintanance question

I removed the YPVS covers today to clean the valves and install waveater clips and noticed there was a lot of grit and what looked like broken down grease inside the convers. When i put everything back together do I need to put some sort of grease inside these covers or has what was in there just built up over time? If I need to put grease inside them, what kind is recommended? Thanks for any help....

No lube needed, that is two stroke oil you see there. The yamalube will turn into sludge in the exhaust valves. Clean it all out and switch to a synthetic oil and that will not occur again.
