    Another newbie? yep!

Hey guys, I've been trying to find a legit PWC forum for a little while now... Hopefully I found it.

I've been riding for a long time, and love my SeaDoo.. well, two of them now!

I'm here to pick up some knowledge about my '97 GTI, as well as the newer '08 RXT-X. I've been a gearhead for a long time with cars, but before I start getting myself into something, I'd like to know what I'm doing first.

First, pay no attention to the SD nay-sayer's; some folks just don't know quality...LOL.

Second, stay away from that SoFL group and their BS thread. It's a deep, dark corner of this forum and no good ever comes out of it. You'll just end up losing some brain cells... LOL. I just thought I'd mention that being you're in Tampa.

Really, like it was stated above, prob. every SD issue has been dealt w/for trouble shooting and mods. The search function is your friend.

    Welcome aboard,

Good stuff guys. Thanks for the tip 83Gator! lol.

The RXT-X has 25 hours on her, we just picked her up today. The GTI has a problem running. It has trouble starting, and when it idles, it will slowly increase up to about 3k RPM's (judging by the sound). Unless you wiggle the throttle, then it will drop back down, and slowly go up again. Also, she will have a dead spot at around 3k RPM's when under load. Meaning when I try and plane off, it will bog, then pick back up, and reaching no faster then around 30 miles an hour. She's capable of 50. I'm gunna do a compression check, and maybe richen up the carb.. but other then that, ideas??

    Appreciate it everyone!

Maybe start a thread in the Seadoo section for your issue.

Had a friend with the same issues. Had his carbs rebuilt and fixed it. I'd check ur fuel, plugs, and carbs. But more than likely it will be the carb. Fuel injected is so much easier.
