GIO was a term first coined by JWilson, back in 07. The term refers to unburned gas & oil that blows by the piston rings. If excessive, it can dilute engine oil, foul plugs and foul intercooler. If you got it, you can see oil level rising on dipstick and collecting in airbox vent tube. Some blow by is apparently normal for many supercharged engines. But, can be excessive in some 2007 and 2008 Ultras. Thats why Ultra owners are cautioned to check oil level before and after every ride. Change oil often. Check ic for fouling. Hope this helps. There are more details in those threads mentioned by Sirbreaks. This is just quick snapshot.

But, I think GIO, as used specifically on this forum in regard to 2007 Ultra X, was first used by J Wilson, although it might have even been your countryman, Sirbreaks. I remember those daze, my first high performance jski. Poor Blue Thunder that Shook the Heavens contracted the virus that first summer. But not before giving me the thrill of my life. She is gone now, but her memory shall echo through eternity.

My experience is that whether someone cares if an ox is gored usually depends on whether he owns the ox.

The R&D system was a $400.00 tomato can.
