    Waterpump/thermostat housing

Is there an aftermarket thermostat housing that is user friendly? I installed a Riva kit that lasted about 12 hrs. and then suddenly blew loose at 8080 rpm. The stock housing is not truly serviceable. I installed the kit exactly as the instructions said. I don't believe these plastic housings are reliable after being tampered with. I am considering adding screws through the ring and into the new aluminum flange that comes with the kit. Any ideas??!!

THis is what a couple of us did here in Chicago after modding the OEM thermo to a 160 degree one...I heated up the OEM front nozzle and pulled it out..Replaced it with a 160 degree and then put a bead of Right stuff silicone around it and pushed it back in..Once in i took about 6 small screws and drilled them into the front nozzle through the outer housing..2 seasons now and no issues or leaks and the thermo opend dead balls on at 160...

Thats the same method I did, 2 seasons on mine as well no issues. I know this is a no brainier for most, but remember to use Stainless Screws, pre-drill the holes, and use short screws.
