8500-8600 seems to be accepted as "safe"

If I am interpretting this correctly - SD limits I read should in general be limited to around 8,600 rpm. For the Yami 1.8l I say 8,800 rpm, but you can be a little more conservative.

I have heard it said the aftermarket valvetrain is good to 10k rpm, but I have also seen a motor that failed on the top end at 9,700 rpm.
