    215 oem intercooler

    Question?

I pulled my ic out of my 05 rxt. To my surprise the version of ic seems to be cheaper then the one that came out of my 04 rxp.
It has the copper water housing on the end, 36 rails, and finer and cheaper screen.
The one out of my 04 rxp has the plastic fittings with brass housing, 32 rails and built alot better with coarser screen.

Did brp go backwards to save cost? Wtf

So I want to know if they are interchangeable as the one out of rxp has one black and one green oring on the ends to seal and the cheaper looking ic out of rxt has two black gaskets. One on each end.

    Thanks

BRP says the same but I have see several 07 skis with intercooler issues!
My opinion is that the newer coolers after 07 are better!

I shall see. If it is then I will have to go external. I can see where the smaller and more rails could cool better.
The ski is x setup and will throw the Mani temp. Code at wot with that 05 ic.
It might perform better but very cheap made IMO.
    Maybe they changed in 06-08

Plastic not the best option but the copper end is junk IMO.lol
The 04 is way better made.
As far as performance I will soon tell you
I m not saying that the 04 is going to perform better but the quality and design of the two products is big diifference.

I pressure tested the 04 ic and all is good.

    Thanks for the heads up.
I pulled a search before posting thread but did see yours?

no problem, but why do you say the plastic end is a better design? With the copper IC, the end is solid, no sealing issues. Also, how could the copper end save any money? i would think it would cost more as copper ain't cheap.

Granted, the plastic ended one crapped out on me and nearly cost me a few weeks last summer, so I am a little biased.

Performance wise, I doubt there would be any noticable difference, but I'm interested to find out.....
