    2000-2001 polaris ski

friend acquired 2000-2001 polaris 1200 ski, looks like fuel injected, ski turns over great, seems not to have fuel pressure, spark or trim. Going through dash found a spot to put a 3 digit code., how would i put in new code for this ski, and/or would this be the problem?

If the engine cranks, then the four digit security code is not the problem.

There is no Trim on any fuel injected Polaris model. Reverse yes, but not trim.

Have a look through the links below - should prove useful.

    Did it look like this?

    or this?

Genesis with red hood and shroud, I think were 2003 and 2004 models, and all Genesis after 2002 were fuel injected.

I expect it also has Polaris Electric Reverse Control (PERC), which has a rocker switch on the left handlebar. It might look like a trim switch, but it is for the reverse system.

Assuming it is a 2003 or 2004 Genesis i model...

First thing is to confirm good battery voltage while the engine is cranking. Voltage must remain above 10.6 volts while cranking.

Assuming the battery tests good - Is the lanyard in place?

After sitting with the lanyard in place for more than five minutes, press Start button to crank engine for a few seconds. Does the MFI display 'wake up' and show a full LCD test and the speedometer needle does a full sweep?

There are four fuses in the 2003-2004 Genesis i. The fuses are tucked inside two of the splice connector covers in the wire harness.

Two fuses are just for the Bilge pump (3 Amp) and the MFI display (2 Amp). That splice connector will have Orange and Red wires.

The other two are 15 Amp fuses for the fuel pump, and the main 'Battery' feed to the electrical system. Wire colors are Red, Red/Purple, and Red/White.

The fuel pump should have 12 volt power all the time. It is turned on by grounding the Brown wire for the fuel pump.
