Quick Question - Premix to Injection

Hey guys. Last summer while we were fixing my ski we switched to premix...well long story short my dad hates it and its expensive. We want to go back to the stock oil injection. The problem is while we switched the guy who did it for us put a hole through one of the parts so that the oil would always read full. I remember him saying that if we ever wanted to switch back that we would have to replace this part. 1) I cant remember what part this would be...and 2) Do we in-fact have to replace this part now. Also, im guessing it would be best to get new oil lines and new clips so they dont corrode and break off, what do you guys recommend? Thanks.

My only guess is that he did something to the "float" for the oil level. I don't know why you would have to "damage" anything. He should have just tied up the floats at worst case. I did a post awhile back on securing the oil lines: http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...s+pinch+clamps

we usually use zip ties to tie the floats up on the level sensor

its the thing with 2 wires sticking out of the center top of the oil tank... pull it up and out and see whats going on

Dunno, guess one of the mods removed it.

Was working when I posted here originally.

Which part are you talking about?

Look at your oil level sensor float (it looks like the fuel level sensor that's in your fuel tank except its in your oil tank) If you need one let me know I think I have one and will send it to you just pay shipping.

When you pre-mix you set the ratio. e.g. 32:1 or 40:1. The oil injection systems have a geometric ratio. When it's idling it may be running a 200:1 or 300:1 ratio, so thus it uses much less oil. When running WOT then it will be 32:1. So 32:1 would be the max and if you are partial throttle, it will but much less.

40:1 is 32 ounces per 10 gallons of fuel...a pretty general amount to pump into the ski at a gas station. There is 128 ounces in a one gallon thing of oil. Thats 4 10 gallon fillups per 1 gallon of oil. I would go through an easy 20 gallons every weekend (if not more). That would mean buying a gallon of oil every 2 weeks, which for dominator is currently $38 a gallon...it gets expensive especially with gas prices sky rocketing.

Run something less expensive than Dominator in your stock ski. You don't need racing oil in it. $40/gal for oil in a stock 2 stroke is just throwing money away.
Yamalube 2S is half the price, and is more than adequate for what you need.
