    Tankless Water Heaters

Anyone have one? Any input on which brands are better than others? If I have two regular water heaters, will I have to get two tankless heaters or will one work for the whole house?

Franko, a buddy of mine is buidling a house right now, a big ass house. I believe he only has one tankless water heater. Its the new thing going into these houses. I believe they cost around $1200, not sure. But the money you save in electricity/gas it pays itself off in a year or two.
I will probably put one in my house next year. Along with updated plumbing lines. Doing it all myself, its really not that hard, but its time consuming.

Most people have 2 water heaters for use with a hot tub or whirlpool. With a tankless heater you will have an endless supply of hot water so there is no need for 2 tank heaters.

Thanks for the responses. My house is 3500 sq. ft. and has five bathrooms The install guys gave me an estimate for two tankless heaters, but I thought one would work. I'm sure they would like to sell me two of them though

If you buy two make sure they invoice you separately. One in 2006 and the second in Jan. This way you can apply for the tax credit in both years.

3500' and 5 baths is cool but....What's the garage look like?
