fine crack in GP1200 hull .... help please

not sure if you can see the crack clearly, its the fine crack running verticaly.

The ski does not seem to leak at all, just want to get ontop of this before it sinks one day lol.
If it makes any difference the crack is almost in line with the side mirrors towards the front of hull.

Anyone know if this could be bad? repair tips?

Here are some more pics, hopefully they are a little easier to see (its a fine crack running vertical down the hull.
The second pic is where it goes about an inch underneath the hull.

Btw. this is a 99 GP1200 - if that makes any difference.

To me it looks likes previous repairs that have been painted over. I would say collision damage. You can not access this area from the inside, as it is under the inner layer of the hull. If it leaks it leaks between the layers.

as bill says, a previous collision repair ..
it is also possible that the previous owner strapped the hull down front and back too tightly on a trailer..normally a hull rides on the bunks, basiclly floating , be teatherd to the winch post and only lightly strapped in the rear....
cinched tightly, this would cause the hull to crack in this area as it has to give somewhere, and this being where its at, is my guess..
if it starts getting slower and possibly riding lower in the water with a feeling of weight transfer in turns ,you might need to inspect it further..

early 97's had issue's with cracking, but not in this area(latter pic's were clearer).. the cracking was known to ocure at engine fixture points and fuel tank attaching areas..(look in the hatch , streight down ,between the engine and tank to find these, if occuring)..they were from yamaha not building this area up enough, first, when the 97's came out(fixed early on )..the weight of the motors (especially the 1200 ) and full fuel tank would over stress the inner layer of the hull when especially ridden in rough conditions..
