when you run it on the hose make sure you do not have water in the oil because that would be a sign of a cracked head or head gasket, When you start it and turn the water on make sure it does not run rough because that is a sign that water is getting in a cylinder. and check that you do not have any blow by.

I had a ski run really really hot and the only thing that happened was that the exhaust manifold came loose. I would just check all the visible nuts and bolts and def check the ex manifold.

Same issue here with the exhaust after overheating. Mine loosened up enough that water was leaking from the gasket between the manifold & header. Check the bolts are all still torqued but be careful because you might not be able to torque them to spec without stripping them if the threads were damaged. Mine required time-serting all the bolt holes in the head & manifold...cost me a few bucks & had to pull the motor. Hopefully yours didn't get that hot.

you should not have a problem if only the buzzer came on.
