    Question 1992 sl 650 oil....

    is there oil in bottom of block and if so can i drain and fill and should i ...........? i don't know if it has ever been done........... what kind and how much and were do i drain from and fill.........?

    2-stroke engines do not have a reservoir of liquid oil inside the motor.

    Normally there isn't much more than a thick film of oil inside the crankcase. A small amount of liquid 2-stroke oil may accumulate when the engine is sitting for a period of time, or running at low RPM, but that excess oil gets atomized and pumped through the engine and consumed along with the fuel when the engine is working hard at higher RPM.
