    Newbie please help!

Hello I'm new to this forum thing so please bear with me...I have an 03 gpr with a riva stage 2 except the reed stuffers and my prop is a 14/20. After spending major$$$ I notice the ski wasn't all that 69MPH on a very very good day. So I started to do some mods of my own that seemed logical to improving speed. 1st I took the rive filter off and left the throttle bodies open with a steel mesh to keep things from going in the motor. 2nd I put 2 washers on the front of the ride plate 'one on each side' . I put the stock tabs back on. So far my tinkering has netted me 74MPH @7130 RPM. @ my local lake im miami. Any other do it yourself mods??? also here are some pics...I'm repainting the ski and polishing some parts such as the intake ride plate and pump shoe...Also I've been playing with the intake grate and in clearance on the pump shoe. I have noticed that its really off and some of the casting would hang out a bit. I'll keep you posted.

That power core thingy would have cost you some top end. The ski seems to be doing well with 74mph. Especially with the old style pump. I too started with the ole Riva Stage II kit and only picked up about 1 mph from stock. List all of your above stock mods so that we all can help you better dial in your boat.

You should add more oil to your premix. I don't think 3 oz is enough per gallon. Thats less than 40:1 You should set it closer to 32:1

If you run mostly with the 800 grate, you may want to put the stock sound suppression back in. It will raise your top end some, but you will lose a little bottom end power.

Also for cooling purposes, dump the water from #3 head overboard.

How about shims under the stock tabs ? Sponsons ?
