    Falmouth -> Martha's Vineyard ride

    Anyone interested in riding from Falmouth harbor to the Vineyard this summer? We normally go the route in the picture below. Pretty easy ride... we jump the Island Queen's wake until Oak Bluffs and then head east to Egertown and into Cape Poge Bay or head out on to South Beach. Total ride is about 50 miles. Lots of flat spots over on the Vineyard (pretty much glass every day in the Bay) and lots of waves in between. Lots of nice beaches to stop at and rest and places to stop and get food if needed.

    Saturday August 6th potentially

    Let me know if anyone is interested. Me and a group of 4 other guys do this ride all the time. The more the merrier.

    oh btw... the harbor master loves jet ski

    Mike I might be in for this ride. I launch from Hoppy's Landing in Fairhaven, so more than likely I'll ride to Falmouth to meet up.

    Is that 50 miles round trip or each way(I didn't open the map)>??? I would be interested if a few other CT guys would want to go. I like riding new areas.

    50 round trip according to my GPS. However, there are plenty of areas to explore or rip the skis in Cape Poge Bay if you want to ride more.
    If any other CT guys want in please post up.

    Awesome! It's a great ride. The water is warm by then and the water is usually pretty calm in June. It's not until the dog days of the summer that the water gets rough.

    So who's down for this ride? Saturday August 6th work? I swear it's one of the best rides on the east cost.
    Right now we have 3 FZRs coming and 1 FX HO.

    did Bass River to Nantucket last year... didnt like the fact there was nowhere to tie up for "them jetski's"

    hows the vineyard for tying up and getting something to eat?

    (am considering just doing this with the boat.)

    I've never tied up on the vineyard to stop and get food. Usually we beach the skis and picnic it. I know there's public docks in all the major harbors though you could tie up on. You can definitely walk to places to get food form the harbors though. Riding over in a boat wouldn't be a bad idea either if you wanted to really make a day trip out of it.
