Question Polaris SLX 785 Pro - Problems

I have a Polaris SLX 785 PRO. Yall helped me fix my drive shaft problem, and when I put it in the water I discovered a few more problems. It was taking on water, and only turning left, I discovered the problem was coming from where the steering cable goes through the hull. The "plug" was out. I have posted pictures to show what im talking about. Is this part broken, or is there a way to reconnect it?

Second Problem - I only ran the ski for a min. or two, due to the fact it was taking on water, and has some fuel delivery problems and didn't want to stay running. However I only saw water flowing out the center pee hole, neither outer holes were had water coming out. Is this due to the fact that it only was running for a brief moment and had not completely filled the cooling system, or is there a deeper problem?

Had the exact same thing happen to me this past summer. Turns out I had the end of the cable connected on the wrong side of the nozzle. Send a pic of the nozzle/cable connection.

That white disc needs to stay inside of the hull fitting

I know it needs to stay in there, but how do I make it do that?

Here are the pictures you requested.

Yep...your cable is hooked on the wrong side of the pump nozzle...it should be on the top. Having is backwards over-stresses the cap on the thru-hull fitting and blows the cap apart. If my foggy memory serves me right, you cannot just order the end-cap from Polaris, but need to order the entire cable. I ended up calling John Zigler and he sold me just the thru-hull fitting, of which I just used the cap. Either get ahold of John, or maybe someone on here has one?

It gets a little "interesting" on a Pro 785 in a hard turn when that cap blows apart and you loose all steering control...YIKES!

K447...if it isnt already, maybe this should be a tech tip on your site?

I agree... the end of your cap is blown out and you need another, I would grab a complete cable on ebay, they are on there and can be gotten fairly cheap, plus you will have extra parts.
