    PRO 785 gas valves

It appears that a number of exhaust gas valves for the 785 will be made/converted in the very near future.

Anyone that wants to get in on these will have to supply all their own parts. Completed sets will NOT be for sale.

    What you need to supply:

You will need a set (3) of 785 valves

The mounting bases to attach to the cyls

Both of which you should currently have

You will also need to buy 3 gas valves for a Polaris sled.

The ones with the adjustable (blue) caps are the preferred style of choice.

But the non-adjustable style will work. I have been told that they are "not deal breakers"

The machining to convert them will be free of charge. But there will be a fee of $40 per set for welding the pieces together.

This will be a one-time deal, so start gathering your parts NOW if you want to have a set for your PRO.

Going to give other members some time to get parts gathered up. Very soon though.

Let me find out if I need to send them all together. Turn around shouldn't take too long. These will be done as a side job, and will want all machining completed before given to the welder.

I have a set of Yamaha power valves as well, are you geared up to do those also? I know beerdart did some using the blue caps.

Regarding my shipment, I can send you my valves but would probably buy the gas valves in USA and ship them to you separately - would that be a problem? I'm thinking it would save me a bit by not having them shipped to Australia and then back to you again as I need to source them over there.

    Kevin,

Are there any performance gains to be had by going to this style of valve or is it to just eliminate the need for the servo? I have a full spare set of valves and servo and I was wondering if it would be worth the conversion.

Also, I thought I read some where the auto heads don't clear the factory exhaust headers or was that an aftermarket header?

I cannot say anything about the Yamaha's. I only know about the Polaris valves.

Sure, you can send what you have my way, and I'll forward them for you.

No real gains Derwood, except reliability. Valve control side of the CDI, servo motor, or cables fail, valves are closed. Gas pressure actuated with these.

As far as clearance issues, I haven't ever heard of any being a problem with A/M or factory headers.

How about a link to the issue you speak of?

No time to drag your feet guys. Get your parts gathered up if you're interested.

Some have started to send their stuff in already.

We would like to see everyone that's interested in having the valves converted get them shipped no later than the end of the month. 3/31.

This gives you 2 weeks to get your stuff together, and that way those of us that have them aren't waiting long to get our valves.

They will all be machined and welded all at the same time. There will be no 1 set this week, 2 sets next week kind of stuff.

    Get a move on guys/gals....
