What year ski and what year plate did you get???I know I bought an 08 plate and put it on my 06 ski and the intake grate hung down a bit..had to do some grinding and modding on the plate to get it to fit up in there flush..

fairly common to have casting iconsistencies with the riva plates. They are not plug and play like they are sold. Quite a bit of grinding was done on my plate and grate to line them up flush. Also use sponson bolts on your grate bro.

The sponson bolts sit flush and do not protrude. Yes on the grate.
