Thumbs up NEWBIE with lots of questions... 98 GTXL w/ 1050 Miller

    Hey guys...
New to seadoo's but not new to fixing things ( automotive and aircraft mechanic )

Just bought a 98 GTX Limited with a 1050 Miller in it and some other goodies...

    Plans :
1 - Convert from carbs to EFI -> Megasquirt
2 - Turbo kit possibly but latter on

So right now i'm searching for information...
I looked at some service manuals and noticed that the 947 and 947 DI magnetos have different timing markings for the crank sensor but need to know the pattern ??
Also, does the DI crank sensor work in the non-DI cover or do i have to use the DI cover ??

With a bit of ingenuity I think I can get the multifunction gauge working.

Where can i obtain the complete wiring diagrams as well ???

What else do i need to hit 75MPH ??

I can probably complete the injected swap with a custom intake manifold for under $1000 plus the $1800 i paid for the ski brings my tally up to $2800...

Now how much is an RXP ??
and lets forget about the stage 2 kit all together !!

Right now I have access to a full fab shop with a TIG welder and i know i can Fab everything myself
My main concern is to get the fuel injection going and tuned in on a N/A setup.

Intake will be a plenum type with short velocity stacks. Injectors will be 2 Bosch shorty style with narrow spray pattern, high impedance and positioned about 1.5" "above" each velocity stack which will allow the and and fuel more time to mix before entering the crank case. New billet reed spacers and intake blocks will allow the use of a velocity stack design and mounting between intake manifold and engine with a V-Band style assembly with standard with machined groove to aid sealing under vacuum or boost and allow easy removal and installation inside the craft. Throttle body will be a 63mm ( more airflow than the engine would ever need ) off a Mitsubishi 1st Gen 4G63T from a Eagle Talon / Mitsubishi Eclipse which even has an Idle screw

    Quick update...
All of the wiring that is being "routed" through the MPEM can be bypassed
Since the Mega Squirt will be handling all the functions all i have to worry about is the Security / Kill switch featurewhich can be grafted from an SPX, which has a very basic MPEM that can be used to retain security feature. Grafting a GSX Limited Info Center and SPX VTS module and with the GSX switches gives me all the functionality i need without having to add extra stuff

As far as the charging system, the solution is quite simple...
Need a RX DI stator and flywheel with and CPS along the with rectifier module. Issue solved !
The reason for the flywheel is the trigger wheel for MegaSquirt. This way it allows it to run full sequential injection.

    Found "suitable" turbo
Came off my old eclipse ( i knew i had it kicking around somewhere )
    Its a 16G
    COMPRESSOR:
    A/R: .49
    WHEEL DIAMETER: 48.3 /67.9mm

    TURBINE:
    WHEEL DIAMETER: 49.2/56mm

I know this turbo can flow about 550CFM and is capable of producing ~350HP
Only looking to squeeze about 220 - 250HP so this will be suitable

    MODS:
Can someone move this to the projects Section, as it seems this went from Q&A straight to Project...

since this is a serious build I would create a build thread in the Seadoo projects sub forum. this will be interesting. Sorry for the skepticism...there was a clown on here a couple months ago claiming he was building or going to build a diesel Doo...it was a huge fiasco. baseless claims and seriously misinformed. Good luck with the build. this will be very interesting especially on a 1050!

I figgured specially when i said newbie on this event though i should have clarified that im a 4th year Aircraft apprentice and also a certified automotive service technician with 12 years of experience with a lot of background in the high performance aftermarket and owned several 500+ HP turbocharged.
Last "toy" was a 1998 Eclipse GSX with a 4G64 2.4L de-stroked with a 4G63 forged crank, HKS 272/280 cam and lots of other goodies including a Super 70 hybrid turbo putting down nearly 700AWHP !! Red line was at 9500 and was limited by fueling at them time as it would get dangerously lean after 9800.

Sadly it was written off by a drunk driver at the wheel of a GMC 3500HD work truck with a big ass welder on the back :s
i walked away with minor scratches but the trunk lid was laying on top of my roof :'(

Currently at my job i inspect the turbines and run maintenance tasks on 737 series aircraft's
