I would read the sticky "fzr, fzs, sho buck".
And then I would buy the R&D intake grate....immediately. No speed loss as far as I know.

R&D grate should be your first mod. Seriously.

Then remove all those warning stickers.

All FZ owners should do the R&D grate as the very first thing before the ski ever hits the water, this should be budgeted into the price. Its a no brainer really.

Thats because the R&D is made out of aluminum and the RIVA is made of Stainless steel.

I doubt it. I think that some of the guys who are pushing hard (over 90 mph) prefer the steel as it will not break under extreme forces, whereas the aluminum can. To me the stainless is a bonus when you ride in salt water as it will hold up better to the salt. The only thing that I have not heard about yet is if anyone has even been bucked with the new Riva SS grate. There was a bucked report from the original Riva aluminum one, but no one has said anything about the SS one yet. I have the SS one on my FZR and am praying that the redesign is as good as the R&D grate and I don't get bucked.
