the ultra 09 260x and 2010 260x real differences...
guys ,I been reading on this ski like mad, even uploaded the service manual reading up....now know the 250/260x differences and improvement. Is the only weak leak on the 09 is a spun bearing on the pump...what's this about the pump/stator vanes blowing out...is the cyl. head casting better designed(thicker or redesigned waterjacket) on the 2010 and is that much better?...thanks

2010 has following major improvements:
> Better cyl head (no more problematic cooling jacket near the exhaust valve area).
> Better pump bearing set up.
The pump housing (aka vane guide) is still the same P/N 594963757.

he has 147hrs and had the pump bearing crap out at 110 hrs, other than that the ski has been perfect.
my 09 has had trouble starting when it gets real hot then is rested for over half hour, it allways started it just took 4 attempts.
looks like pouris manifold, me no probs with the pump bearing.
In OZ all 07,08,09 Ultras provided they are not grey imports, Kawasaki Oz will replace the pump bearing and shaft with the 2010 twin bearing set up, for free. Warranty or no warranty.
Outside of that the skis have been awsome. oh yeh and ive done 120 hrs.
We ride in very salty conditions and the Ultra scrubs up clean every time.
My advise to you is extended warrany, even though OZ didnt have them.
And depending on price get the better deal 2009 or 2010.

I understand fogging the S/C is a must do after riding especially in salt water ,plus other must do's...since this model only been out since 07 and first S/C, it seems Kawasaki has addressed the earlier problems and continues to improve there model year after year....they hear riders feedback and i'm sure read this forum...

I appreciate this thread.
I am considering buying a 2009 260x tomorrow. It has 175 hours on it, but the motor and SC was replaced under warranty 10 hours ago. It also has about $2000 in Riva upgrades.
The price seems pretty darn right at a bit over $6000 or so. It's for my wife, so it's not like it'll get beat on.
Should I be concerned about this ski? Should I steer clear, or will I be in good shape due to the warranty work being done already?
I'd appreciate the input as well.
