    Broken Intake Grate

First ride of the season today guys after doing some mods. Ski felt good....did a few WOT runs and then this lurch....weirdest feeling, almost like the ski stepped out. Got it to the dock and took it home and this is what i`ve found.

My Riva top loader....let go! ....Nice clean break. Luckily i`ve got the R&D spare....that`s what going on now.

might be covered under warranty. Looks like it was defected, if you were only left with one piece it would have meant that the bolts pulled out but that looks like it just broke clean.

Seen that before. Check your rideplate good. When it breaks it flexs the rideplate and caused a coolant leak on the last one I saw.

Thanks for the heads up on that Jp........ i`ll definately check that out. The Riva grate is very thin in this area, compared to the R&D one. Im just going to fit this one now. Thanks for that.

Your lucky you were on a RXTX. When it breaks on a PX, you go over the bars.

That was one of the reasons i went for the T and not the P. The missus and I both have couches as we only ride in the sea.....we dont have fresh water rides here at all. Usually ride pretty rough water here, so the three seaters are way more stable for us.

Have checked out the rideplate.....all looks good, so it looks like i`m good to go!
