    xlt1200 cylinder on xl800 engine

hello, i have a quick question. i have a xl800 with a slightly scared piston and cylinder, but i have two cylinders off a xlt1200, i know that the pistons are the same for the two, but can i use the 1200 cylinders on the 800? all the part numbers are the same except the 1200 starts 66V and the 800 is 66E. everything looks the same.

    thanks
