With a good maintenance program, and not a lot of abuse some have posted 600 hrs or so on the 4-tec, these are good proven engines. Superchager maintenance is a must if equiped with it.

Is that 600 hrs before a rebuild or a replacement or just how many hours they have managed get so far with regular maintenance?

Welcome to the forum! Do right by the ski and it will do right for you.....break it in right by varying the rpm`s over the rev range for the first 10 hrs...no long wot runs but dont be frightened to take it there. Do the 10 hrs service...its probably a must for the warranty, most likely by your dealer. If your doing this yourself, it will give you a chance to check out/look over your ski. Check everything is tight etc. If your running it in the salty stuff....spray down the internals after you ride....engine etc with WD 40 or something similar. Do the services when you need to....oil, filter and plugs,.....usually at the end of the riding season or after you winterise.....will depend on how many hrs you do in the season. There will be a service schedule in the handbook, so you can just follow that....or your dealer will keep you right. SC needs a rebuild at 100 hrs and you can purchase a full kit for doing this here in the store. Jerry or the guys on here will keep you right if you need help with anything but using the search function, is a great resource for info.

you shouldnt have any issues for a long time...
there is a thread on here of a guy with a non-supercharged 155hp gtx...

His hour meter stopped counting at 1,000 hours....
Like others have said...it's all about how you take care of them... GL!!!

Those N/A engines have been known to run well over 1k hrs without any major failures...... in the rental market The 4-tec engine is built like a brick shit house compared to the competition! The weakest link is the charger... but you don't have to worry about that with this particular engine.

The statement above was posted in another thread by BigDaddyRXP. I'm on my iphone and not sure how to post the link but you get the idea.
