    Registering my SHO

So i am wondering about the warranty on my new 09 FX SHO. The dealer mentioned something about registering it, but im not not sure what he was talking about. That dealer is closed today and i'll call him in the morning, but he is really tough to get ahold of. I have signed up to the Yamaha site, but i dont see a section on registering it up for the warranty protection. Online search only brings up the fact that they have a one year warranty.

Im kinda wondering if it just automatically kicks in and as long as you have a bill of sale they would honor it as long as it is within a year.

    Thoughts?

I think the dealer has to register it when you purchased it. You'd better make sure that that is done. You should then receive a confirmation in the mail from Yamaha that you do have the extended warranty.

Ok, thanks. I do plan on trying to get ahold of him tomorrow. I just wanted to see what someone else had to say. I have the YES warranty but i think it doesnt start until the factory warranty runs out.

the dealer has to register u themselfs atleast thats how they have done it for me although i suggest if u r planning on dropping in parts to ur jetski engine not to pay for the extended warranty cause any aftermarket thing u put in your engine take away your warranty and that is money thrown away even if its from riva they dont care

oh k then u shouldnt have any problems as long as u take it to the dealer to get its oil change done, dont do it yourself cause that will void ur warranty also, call the guy and find out cause they r supposed to register your warranty themselfs

No, it would be illegal for them to say that only they can do oil changes (extortion). You just need to keep a log (hours) and receipts of when oil changes were done.

Of course you can do it yourself! Just keep receipts for the oil and filter and write down the date and how many hours are on the ski.
