Here's a tip for you guys

If ever you have your engine out or have your exhaust manifold out for whatever reason take some time and grind the tabs off of the gasket at the bottom of the exhaust manifold.

When changing your oil filter or if you drop a tool down in the bilge and go to reach for it those tabs will shred some skin in a hurry. I have the scars to prove it

Take that advice to heart. I got 10 stitches last summer on my forearm from those tabs while trying to feel for something under the engine. Jerry hopefully you didn't end up with the same.

I didn't end up with stitches, but really should have gotten them. I was shocked at how deep the gouges were.

If you guys can fit a grinder down in the hull to knock those tabs off by all means do so otherwise they will get you at one time or another and they will ruin your day

I thought I was going to bleed out due to a cut from those tabs.

I agree. I got a nasty scar on my arm from this gasket. I also should have gone to get stitches but I instead got some paper towel and duct tape to keep from bleeding.......then proceeded to finish the job. I didn't even feel it cut me. Picked my arm out and it was covered in blood. I just tell people I got stabbed with a knife. Makes me seem tougher! lol

LOL, scars here too. Those damn things are so sharp you don't even feel it cut you. I had blood all over the manifold & was wondering what is all this red shit?
