    Updated Flywheel bolts

Does anybody know when exactly Sea Doo started updating the flywheel bolt? My GTX is an 06 model but the engine was but in 12/05 and the hull was built 11/05. Do you think I have the new bolts?

you probably have the 05' bolts. I would just replace them for piece of mind. Not expensive, just time consuming .

What does the old style bolt look like? I have the PTO cover off now, and the bolts on the flywheel look the same as the new bolts in the package.

To put some additional description of Ocman's great photo, the old bolts are silver in color, and have no flange on the head. The new ones are almost black, and have a flange on the head.....

My ski is a 06, but my motor is a 05. I had the new flywheel bolts, but I had to remove the flywheel to put the starter bendix back into place. I went the safe route, and bought new flywheel bolts. Before installing the new flywheel bolts, make sure the threads are clean of oil! I use brake cleaner to clean the threads to make sure everything was perfect before I torque it to spec.

Cool looks like I already have the upgraded bolts. My motor was built 12/05 had upgraded bolts, but bad exhaust valves. My other ski's motor was built 03/06 and has upgraded valves and bolts. So some where between January and March they started upgrading valves. Now comes the supercharger oiling mod.

Your ski is exactly my ski right now. I had the newer fly wheel bolts, but the older exhaust, intake valves. I will be upgrading the valves to the Ferrea valves.
