    Help! Im Stuck..

    Ok, im trying to fire an 05 rxt after a rebuild. The motor turns over but will not start. I have a new battery in it and i know its getting spark and can smell the gas when I pull the plugs. I have played with different timing options for about 3 days now but cant get any success. I started with by the book directions, locking cam and crank and setting the 1503 marks. No success. Then I moved the cam sprocket 1 tooth in either direction but still not cranking. When I moved it 1 tooth CCW it turned over and backfired like crazy. Does anybody have any ideas as to what my problem could be??

    What was rebuilt? are all the parts from the same year?

    It dropped a valve so the head and piston were replaced. Im not 100% sure on parts being the same year.. I bought this ski as a rebuild project from a fellow member (developerjj).. I wouldnt doubt it if things were different.

    No Ive never heard it make a sound until about a week ago when I first turned it over. Yep, thats the thread Im ready for some results with this thing!

    Make sure the crank trigger matches your PTO cover. 04-05 trigger @ 12:00 and 06+ trigger @ 7:00 ish. You must make sure the trigger wheel matches the PTO.

    Ok. If that turns out to be the problem, what are my options to fix it?

    There are two connectors (CPS) and or something else I believe that are near the throttle body are that look exactly the same and have exactly the same connections. Make sure these are not swapped and or try to swap them and see what happens.
