    My Chrome Ride Plate.......

It's not chrome but, it's as close as you can get. I spent 6 hours today sanding, rubbing and polishing my ride plate. Two weeks ago I picked up a used SpeedFreeks modified Rideplate from Mike H and when it arrived this is what is looked like.

    Before:

    How it looks today:

Very nice!!! However... after a couple rides, it's gonna look worse than it did before you polished it out

I live inland and only ride in fresh water, there was a number of scratches in the plate and it was not very smooth when it arrived. So that was the main reason I started working on it today. Hopefully the 4 coats of wax I put on help keep it from going back to how it was.

Good to know. Did you try to seal it at all, if you did what product did you use?

If found this and might pick it up

Do you spend alot of time laying under your ski looking at the bottom admiring the shine? Just wondering why you would ne worried about how shiny your rideplate is. A fine sanded surface is faster than a slick shiny one.
