Disabling 300X Kawasaki Smart Steering (KSS)

In 2007, before riding my new 250X, I disabled the Kawasaki Smart Steering (KSS) and never looked back. Experienced riders don't need the computer throttling for them! I used these instructions and pictures to disable the KSS: http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...Smart-Steering

    The above worked perfect.

Does anyone know if the 300X KSS can be disabled in the same manner? I have yet to open the electronics to look, but would like to be prepared, as the KSS must go again!

    Thanks!

    Steve

its no big deal for an experienced rider either, dont not what your problem is having it there in the background, would hate to give someone a ride on my ski and them crash it because it was diconnected. big deal the engine throttles up sometimes when you back off an experienced rider is aware of this

Okay nicjak, you are entitled to your opinion. You can do what you want and I will do what I want. My KSS will be disconnected, as it's more of a risk, in my opinion, to have the computer throttle up the engine without an operator command and unexpectedly. No one rides my ski except me, so no problem there.

Question remains: How to disconnect the KSS on the Ultra 300X? Same as the Ultra 250X?

Anyone try this on a 300 yet... I'd like to disable mine while I have the steering all apart.

    Serivice Manual location, pg 14-45

Thinking about doing this for the 300 as I did it for the 07-250x. My service manual just arrived and it is on page 14-45 and looks like the same connection. May try it this weekend.

+1. The off throttle steering system is simply dangerous.

Yes just unplug it if u want to disable it on the 300 or u can unbolt both sensors and tape them together. Same result ether way.
