    SLT750 questions...help please!

    Hey guys,

Not too much knowledge on the Polaris but my father has a 95 SLT750 and is having troubloe starting it because the reset button on the electrical box on top of the battery will keep tripping. if we hold the button down, the ski will start.

I was wondering if it may be the switch that it bad or something else?

Also, where can I find a replacement electrical box for that ski and how much do they run?

Also looking for the info center gauge for this ski. Display is messed up.

    Thanks!!

    Brian

If you have an amp meter run it across that sucker real quick and make sure you aren't over loading somewhere.
In peticular the bilge pump (if eqiuped).
I've also seen the stator wires damaged and create the same problem.

    hmmm

    Ph2ocraft..

Funny you say that. He has installed a aftermarket bilge pump that is controlled by a toggle. Now this isnt on when he is trying to start it, but it is still connected to the battery

Well I would start at the circuit breaker but since it only does this when it is trying to crank I would think that it's either starter issues or the starter is fighting some extra resistance? guess !Z

i have lots of good used electrical here in stock for that ski. ( stators, starters, complete elect boxes, ect).

get a manual, and do some testing. let me know if you need any parts, and i can fix you right up.

Remember Z, when the engine is cranking the stator begins to produce voltage for charging the battery and you guessed it, the bilge pump (on some models). It also supplies the running current for the CDI (on some models), so it's important to verify the stator is in good shape before things start getting zapped.
We had one guy by-pass the circuit breaker and wonder why his boat fried the entire electrical system.
