Did you use Epoxy resin ? Epoxy resin is the only thing that will work on sheet moulded compound (smc)....I used carbon fiber and epoxy resin on my gpr and it is strong to this day....hope this helps you

Unless he prepared the NanoXcel surface, it probably will not stick. I have a friend that is a boat builder and is very familiar with SMC and he even called Yamaha to talk about the new NanoXcel material. The way that the NanoXcel hulls are built is very different than the older SMC. The problem is that *wax* is built into the NanoXcel material so it can be pulled away from the mold after it is heated and compressed. So you must use a chemical to remove the wax from the pores/surface of the NanoXcel before you try to bond the epoxy. If you don't do that, it will not stick well and will peel off at some point. That is the reason why all the NanoXcel "repairs" are failing.
