How often does the starter relay fail on a rxp is it a good idea to have one on hand?

Not too often. It's just one of those things. Some never experience it. It just depends on how often you are starting the ski. It's kinda like a light bulb. The more use, the more often it will fail. There however is no HOUR rating I don't believe. I had to replace mine after 165 hrs and 4+ years of use. Bought the ski new in 06. One day it just wouldn't start until I clicked it 6-8 times. It just happens. Not difficult to replace. The part number for it is 278-001-802 I believe. It is off the top of my head so double check it.

Mate, just had mine fail on a two week old rxtx, (it had previous corrosion on it) not hard to replace, guys I talked to said its not unusual for them to go. But it shouldn't happen very often.

Mine failed on an 06 RXT. Worked sometimes. Having an extra is a great idea, but if it goes bad, you can bypass it to start the ski by "bridging" the two posts.
