TPS Options for pigtail style TPS

I've been looking for a spare TPS for the new Virage Projects. I have one that's definitely dead and another that's questionable.

The word from my local dealer is that they have been back ordered for months and there's no sign of them being available any time soon, if at all. I got the same news from a different dealer today.

    What are the options?

I know there was talk of an Evinrude replacement for the non-pigtail style. How hard would it be to convert to one of these? I'm assuming I'd have to swap the throttle body over to the older style?

This could be a serious setback if Polaris and/or Honeywell is no longer going to be producing these things.

Ask Jay at Sharp's Marine what the current story is regarding TPS sources and alternatives.

Why don't you share what you know with the rest of the class?

I haven't inquired with Jay. I am sure when they have something available, we will hear about it.

Anyone heard any updates on the new tps design? Last I heard they were supposed to start shipping in april....and now it's May.

I really want to have a known good tps in both of the new virages before break I down and ship the emms off to dfi.

Wahoooo.....just as I was getting back from lunch I got a voicemail from my local dealer....my tps is in! Since I can see the dealer across the highway from my office window, I jumped back in the truck and picked it up.

I'll have to compare it to the old ones, but it appears to be an update...a little thicker as it comes with longer bolts. I'll post more details after the install when I'm not typing on my phone.

That is the current replacement part number for the pigtail style TPS.

This is the first one I've ever bought so I don't have anything to compare it to....does it look like it's the same as the "old" kit?

According to the dealer polaris doesn't always change part numbers with a redesign.

Well, I installed the new one and it does look exactly like the "old" one. Unfortunately, it didn't appear to solve my problem so it's off to DFI with the EMM....just wanted to verify before I took that plunge.

I actually think the "old" one was brand new by the previous owner....he gave me a receipt for some work he had done and the TPS was on there....but I wanted to see for myself before I believed the EMM was the problem.
